Managing Director

Jeff is our Managing Director and is a degree qualified Chartered Engineer. He has 32 years of professional experience in drilling engineering and has worked with companies such as Schlumberger, Blade Energy Partners, and BP. He is experienced with conventional, MPD, UBD, HPHT, ERD, TTRD and multi-lateral technologies and over the years has developed patented technologies of his own. Jeff has also published 2 papers to the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Connor Knight

Operations Director/Mechanical Engineer

Connor has a 1st class Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. He has Industrial experience within the oil and gas sector working with companies such as Blade Energy Partners and Weatherford. Connor specialises in tool design, testing and manufacture. As well as this, Connor is also experienced using software such as Solidworks and Ansys Fluent.

Megan Knight

Mechanical Engineer

Megan is a recent graduate with a 1st class Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. She has industrial experience working within the oil and gas sector for companies such as Halliburton and Engineering Custom Solutions. Megan is also experienced using software such as Ansys Fluent, Star CCM+ and Solidworks.

Kirsteen McQuaid

Kirsteen McQuaid

Administrative Coordinator

Kirsteen has nearly 20 years experience in various administration roles across numerous industries, including manufacturing and electrical engineering. She has a CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply and an HND in Communication with Media. Kirsteen administers our finance, payroll, HR and marketing functions.

Derek Watt

Derek Watt

Engineering Technician

Derek has over 10 years experience in mechanical and electrical work, including servicing and repairing directional drilling and down hole tools. He has a City and Guilds Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Refinishing and has completed many in-house training programmes. Derek has gained recent experience in milling and turning on our CNC lathes and milling machines.

Dan Prophet

Dan Prophet

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Dan has a breadth of experience in maintaining and inspecting various types of equipment as well as using welding and pleating machinery, forklift driving and assembly work. Dan carries out all cleaning, redressing and inspecting of our tools, pressure testing and building of valves, and maintains all workshop equipment. Dan also performs phosphate coating, general inspection of machined components as well as maintaining all the traceability records required when building the valves.

Matthew Evans

Machinist

Matt has recently returned to work for Knight Engineering Solutions after some time in the RAF. Matt has completed a 4 year modern apprenticeship in Maintenance and Manufacture Engineering and has a HNC in Mechanical Engineering as well as various SVQ qualifications in Performing Engineering Operations. He has over 5 years of workshop experience as a mechanical technician and has experience in maintenance and fabrication of well test equipment. He specialises in CNC machining, particularly in turning, and is a highly valued member of the Knight Engineering team.

Evan Philp

Evan Philp

Design Draftsperson

Evan is a recent graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University where he gained an MSC in Mechanical Engineering (Manufacture) with Distinction. He also holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. As the first dedicated design resource for KES, Evan will enhance our design capabilities and strengthen our ability to offer exceptional solutions to our clients.
