ISO9001:2015

We have some exciting news to share!

At Knight Engineering Solutions, we have always had a strong goal of ensuring every piece of work we produce is of the highest quality achievable. We have a brilliant team who make this happen every day.

This also carries through into the way we manage our business. We are delighted to let you all know that we have been working towards gaining ISO9001:2015 certification and had our stage 1 audit last week.

For anyone who is not familiar, ISO9001:2015 is a globally recognised standard that displays a companies commitment to quality.

We have already began preparations for our final audit and are excited to see where this opportunity could lead.

TAU Racing

Over the last couple of weeks, the team here at Knight Engineering Solutions have been working on machining some parts for the TAU Racing team of the University of Aberdeen.

One of the components manufactured was a part for a differential mount and can be seen in the photo. The majority of detail on this part was performed using our Hurco CNC mill to maintain high accuracy throughout the various patterns.

We are enjoying working with TAU Racing and have more parts on the way!

New Hire!

We would like to welcome our latest member of the Knight Engineering Solutions Team, Scott Wood.

Scott has completed his SVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering and has over 5 years of industrial experience working for companies such as Weatherford. He has spent 1 year working offshore operating TRS equipment, as well as having onshore experience with MPD and SDS equipment.

Scott will be joining us in November as a mechanical technician and we are delighted to be welcoming him on board.

Congratulations on the new role Scott!

Milling

Here’s our Hurco CNC Mill pocket milling steel, removing material at an impressive rate!

The part being made is to help us better carry out a machining task for one of our other projects.

We aim to provide a fully customised solution to your individual needs to make sure the most appropriate and effective method is used, every time.

For more information on our machining capabilities, head to the services section of our website.

Regiment Support Service

Happy Friday Everyone!

We wanted to end the week with a bit of weekend positivity.

Its been a tough year for many small companies, charities, independent businesses, and just for everyday life in general.

But… we are getting through it!

The biggest lesson we have learned through all of this is to support one another in any way we can. Any act of kindness could have more of an impact than you could ever imagine.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, the Royal Regiment of Scotland provide welfare and benevolence support to serving and retired soldiers through the Regiment Support Service. They are a non-profit social enterprise organisation who donate all profits to regimental charities each year. To date, they have donated a huge sum of £169,284 to British regimental charities. We are proud to be a sponsor of such a great cause and encourage others to look into how they help so many lives.

Our Mechanical Technician/Machinist

Another valuable member of our team is Matthew Evans who has been a machinist and maintenance technician for Knight Engineering Solutions for the last year.

Matt has completed a 4 year modern apprenticeship in Maintenance and Manufacture Engineering and has a HNC in Mechanical Engineering as well as various SVQ qualifications in Performing Engineering Operations. He has 5 years of workshop experience as a mechanical technician and has experience in maintenance and fabrication of well test equipment.

He specialises in CNC machining, particularly in turning, and is a highly valued member of the Knight Engineering team.

High Precision Machining Using CNC Lathe and Mill

One of this weeks tasks was a bit of machining work for a prototype project for Dr. Yakubu Balogun at Robert Gordon University. Elements of this required high precision machining using our CNC lathes and Mill. Using these, we have produced accurate parts, all with a high quality surface finish that can be seen below.
We have enjoyed working with Dr. Yakubu Balogun and wish him all the best with his project.
